Itinerary
Upon arrival at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, you will be met by our friendly representative who will be of any assistance. Our representative provides itinerary briefing. From the airport, transfer to your city hotel. Lunch and dinner will be on own. Overnight at Sentrim Boulevard Hotel in a standard room on bed and breakfast basis
After breakfast, depart for Masai Mara National Reserve which offers wonderful scenery and plenty of game. Enjoy views of beautiful landscape. Arrive at your lodge in time for lunch. After lunch relax until late afternoon game drive. Look out for the Big Five! This reserve has hilly savanna, rolling grasslands, gallery forest on the Mara River and its tributaries. The ‘big five’ are positively represented here. The large predators are the lion, leopard and cheetah. The smaller predators are the hyena and jackal. The large herbivores are the elephant, rhino, Burchell’s zebra, hippo, buffalo and giraffe. The smaller herbivores are the antelope and bucks. The Maasai ostrich, the world’s largest bird is found in the park. Overnight at Mara Leisure Camp or Mara Sopa Lodge or Mara Fig Tree Camp or Similar (LDBB)
A Full day early morning and afternoon game viewing and part exploration in this of the Northern Serengeti Ecosystem where the great wildebeest migration takes place. Months before the actual migration the herds ‘assemble’ in Serengeti in readiness for the crossing into Masai Mara. The plain is literally covered with these animals. Grunts and other animal sounds are heard, and territorial fights are commonplace. Meals and overnight at Mara Leisure Camp or Mara Sopa Lodge or Mara Fig Tree Camp or Similar (LDBB)
After breakfast, drive to Lake Naivasha which is a freshwater lake. It is on the floor of the East African Rift Valley. Birdlife is particularly abundant (over 460 species). It is a breeding ground for cormorants all year round. You might see pelicans and spoonbills perched on the dead trees and almost certainly the fish eagle. There are two species of fish breeding in this fresh water lake, black bass and tilapia. The tilapias are ‘mouth breeders’, the various species of fresh water mouth breeders are known as “tilapia”. Large and small frogs are abundant, from the bull frog to the tiny tree toad. Crescent Island in Lake Naivasha is part of the rim of submerged volcano whose crater forms the deepest part of the Lake. Lunch is at the resort. Enjoy an included boat ride on Lake Naivasha. Rest of the afternoon will be spent at leisure with various optional activities available and can be booked and paid for locally. After breakfast, you will return to Nairobi . Drop off at Jomo Kenyatta Airport for your onward flight.
